It has been a very busy week in Hedgehog Class. We finished our penultimate writing topic of the year – which is a sequel to Kensuke’s Kingdom, with a focus on using speech to convey character. The children really enjoyed becoming immersed in their own stories and they created some masterpieces. We have now begun to look at our final writing topic – newspapers! The children enjoyed reading some newspapers, both local and national, before trying to find as many features within them as possible. We are now working towards writing our own newspaper articles.
In maths this week, we have been learning how to tell the time on analogue clocks, which can be tricky. The children have really persevered, despite finding it very difficult in the beginning. In PE, we had our final sports leader session! We are now looking forward to running a sports activity morning for the Busy Bees and Bunnies in the final week of term, where newfound leadership skills will be put to the test.
Finally, we have spent a lot of time with the Owls rehearsing for our performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream next week. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our midsummer spectacle.
