Badger Class have had a fantastic first week of term, the children have been so engaged and enthusiastic towards their new learning. I genuinely struggled to choose certificates for achievement assembly this week as they have all been working so hard. If you hadn’t heard, our new topic is Rivers, we started the week by reading ‘A River’ by Marc Martin, it contains the most beautiful images, which we used as inspiration to write alliterative verse poetry. We have also started reading ‘The River Singers’ by Tom Moorhouse as our whole class text and we are really enjoying the story and it’s rich language choices. In RE we will be studying Hinduism and the pilgrimage to the River Ganges, we thought about the importance of water, acted out it’s daily uses and wrote poems/prayers of appreciation. In music we explored the journey of the river and used instruments to create the sounds of each stage from source to mouth.
